By car

The most flexible option if you want to explore the coast, hill towns and inland Calabria during your stay.

By train

Paola and Scalea-Santa Domenica Talao are the most convenient stations for high-speed and long-distance services.

By plane

Lamezia Terme is the main airport for travellers coming from farther away. From 2027, the Scalea-Maratea territorial airport project is expected to add another option.

Coming from the North

  1. Take the A2 Autostrada del Mediterraneo.
  2. Exit at Lagonegro Nord.
  3. Continue through the Valle del Noce.
  4. Join the SS18 and continue towards Belvedere Marittimo.

Coming from the South

  1. Take the A2 Autostrada del Mediterraneo.
  2. Exit at Falerna.
  3. Continue north on the SS18.
  4. Follow the coast to Belvedere Marittimo.

Depending on the timetable, continue by Regional train to Belvedere Marittimo station. Alternatively, rent a car or arrange a transfer with us.

Car rental and chauffeur services are available in Scalea; advance booking is recommended in high season.

Car-rental companies operate at the airport, with offices and dedicated parking close to the terminal. Alternatively, subject to availability, we can arrange a transfer to Villa Elvira.

Scalea-Maratea Airport · planned from January 2027

The Scalea-Maratea territorial airport is expected to enter service from January 2027 within the Regional Air Mobility programme. As operations and routes are still being developed, please verify them before booking travel. Once operational, you will be able to arrange a transfer from Scalea with us and consider local car-rental options.
